The Rome Jewelry Week 2022 (RJW) takes place from 07 to 16 October 2022 with a particularly rich and innovative program.
Events starts its second edition from last year’s success with a great global perspective that sees jewelry designers from all over the world as protagonists.
The Theme of the Rome Jewelry Week 2022
Grand tour is the chosen theme of the second edition of the event: the colors of the journey intended as self-discovery, intercultural exchange and sharing of common values in a very special moment for humanity.
Monica Cecchini, creator and director of the project, gave the event a dimension on a human scale. She also aim to give a flavor of great openness to innovations and the dialogue between different approaches to today’s jewelry.
For the occasion, the entire city of Rome will be the protagonist, with exhibitions in jewelry ateliers, hotels, jewelry schools and arts galleries. In this way, the ten days of the RJW for many people could represent an opportunity to discover places and contents. This is possibile thanks to the tours accessible by reservation organized by AGTAR and sponsored by Domus Artis.
The program
The opening on 7 October has its protagonist in the vernissage at the Incinque Open Art Monti Gallery of the INNOVARE CONSERVANDO exhibition, curated by Claudio Franchi’s Neo Roman School of Contemporary Jewelery.
In the following days, various events will crown the project by giving depth and highlighting creativity and culture.
Saturday 8 October the protagonist will be the artistic performance in which dance and jewelery will dialogue with the visitors. The location is the “Museum of the Other and Elsewhere in Metropoliz – Città Meticcia”.
October 9 will focus on a study day dedicated to the design of Italian jewelery, at the Central Institute of the Intangible Heritage. In the same day there will be the inauguration of the exhibition at the Spazio Monti by Alessandro Arrigo who presents the project Imperium.
From 13 to 16 October the Jewelery Hall Exhibition is scheduled: an exhibition of the works of contemporary jewelery by the famous master goldsmith sculptor Alberto Zorzi at the Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo.
Main events
The noble Palazzo Ferrajoli, a sixteenth-century residence in Piazza Colonna, will see on the 15 and 16 October the first edition of the Capsule Grand Tour. In the historical site international jewelry designers could exhibit their works. In this prestigious location the exhibition “Dialogo con la materia” will be presented, dedicated to the drawings of Giovanni Valli, one of the first Bulgari designers. The Micro and Macro exhibition, created by the two-year mosaic students of the Ravenna Academy of Fine Arts, on project by Emanuela Bergonzoni will be also presented.
The most important event of the Rome Jewelry Week 2022 is the Incinque Jewels Award organized by the Incinque Open Art Monti Association. A consolidated contest, which will take place from 14 to 16 October in the archaeological site Auditorium di Mecenate, dated 30 BC.
